History of Pescicoltura Burrini - Pescicoltura Burrini

The Azienda Agricola Pescicoltura Burrini can be considered one of the first firms in the fish sector. In the fifties Giuseppe Battocchi inherited from the uncles a modest fish business and he had the intuition to use the cold and oxygenated mountain water to start the trout breeding. At the beginning the business was based only on the eyed eggs production. Later, thanks to the growing request of consumption trout, the business has specialized also on the trout production.
In 2000 the main plant which takes place in Vigo Rendena, -Brenta area- was firstly modernized and then totally rebuilt. Nowadays it is composed by some cement ponds and the result is a more efficient and higher production quality. In 2006 other two plants were bought in the Treviso area. One is fed only by rising water coming from some groundwater and it’s destined to the fingerlings (from eggs to 5 gr.), trouts (5-100 gr.) and eggs production. The second, instead, uses superficial water and its production is based principally on commercial size trout. To increase the production in 2016 it has been bought a new plant in the Treviso area powered exclusively by well water.

Umberto (Giuseppe Battocchi’s son) and his sons Giuseppe and Alessandro have developed the business and nowadays the Azienda Agricola Pescicoltura Burrini is one of the leader in the eyed eggs production field in Italy.
Umberto and his daughter Maria Giovanna are responsible for the accounts and foreign customer management, Giuseppe is the marketing and quality responsible for the alive fish market (trouts and brook trouts) and Alessandro is the marketing responsible for the eyed trout eggs market.
